If your name and Social Security number may have been impacted in a cybersecurity attack against Purpose Financial, Inc. f/k/a Advance America Cash Advance Centers, Inc., and its nine subsidiary companies (Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of California, LLC; Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of Florida, LLC; Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of Indiana, Inc.; Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of Kentucky, Inc.; ACSO of Michigan, Inc.; Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of Mississippi, LLC; Advance America, Cash Centers of Nevada, Inc.; Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of Ohio, Inc.; and Advance America, Cash Advance Centers of Tennessee, Inc.), the “Data Incident.”, then you may be a Settlement Class Member and eligible for benefits.

If you wish to receive a Pro Rata Payment and/or reimbursement for Out-of-Pocket Expenses, you must submit a Claim Form by February 2, 2026.

The Settlement established a $7,750,000.00 fund to compensate Settlement Class Members for their out-of- pocket losses or expenses as well as for the costs of notice and administration, and attorneys’ fees and expenses and service awards as ordered by the Court. Settlement Class Member are eligible for cash payments as reimbursement for time and money spent in response to the Data Incident (such as money spent on credit monitoring), as well as for any money lost as a result of unreimbursed incidents of fraud or identity theft resulting from the Data Incident. As applicable, Settlement Class Members may claim for one or more of these benefits, Out-of-Pocket Loss payment, Pro Rata Cash Payment and/or California Resident Cash Payment. The benefits are as follows:

Out-of-Pocket Losses: Settlement Class Members are eligible to receive reimbursement of up to $5,000.00 for money paid to protect themselves from the Data Incident, such as money spent on a credit monitoring service, or reimbursement for money lost as a result of fraud or identity theft, if that money has not been reimbursed from another source. This includes:

  • unreimbursed losses relating to fraud or identity theft;

  • professional fees including attorneys’ fees, accountants’ fees, and fees for credit repair services;

  • costs associated with freezing or unfreezing credit with any credit reporting agency;

  • credit monitoring costs that were incurred on or after the Data Incident through the date of claim submission;

  • and/or miscellaneous expenses such as notary, fax, postage, copying, mileage, and long-distance telephone charges;

  • late fees, declined payment fees, overdraft fees, returned check fees, customer service fees, and/or card cancellation or replacement fees;

  • late fees from transactions with third parties that were delayed due to fraud or card replacement; and

  • other expenses that are reasonably attributable to the Data Security Incident that were not reimbursed.

These Out-of-Pocket Losses must be documented and Settlement Class Members must submit copies of documents supporting your claims, such as receipts or other documentation. “Self-prepared” documents, such as handwritten receipts, will not count as documentation, but you can submit them as clarification to other, official documents. No more than $5,000.00 can be recovered in Out-of-Pocket Loss. This amount may decrease on a pro rata basis depending upon the number of Approved Claims for Out-of-Pocket Losses.

Pro Rata Cash Payment: After distributing funds for Approved Claims for Out-of-Pocket Losses set forth above, California Resident Cash Payment claims, as well as attorneys’ fees, Class Counsel’s litigation expenses, service awards, and Notice and Administrative Expenses, if there is any money left over, the Settlement Administrator will make pro ratasettlement payments of the remaining Settlement Fund to each Settlement Class Member who submits an Approved Cash Payment Claim. It is estimated that such payments will be approximately $50.00, but the amount may increase or decrease depending upon the number of Approved Claims, with first priority to Out-of-Pocket Losses, then California Resident Claims.

California Resident Cash Payment: Settlement Class Members who were California residents at the time of the Data Incident may be entitled to an additional payment of $50.00. This amount may decrease on a pro rata basis depending upon the number of Approved Claims, after first accounting for payments for Out-of-Pocket Losses.

The deadline to submit a Claim Form online is February 2, 2026. If you are mailing your Claim Form, it must be mailed with a postmark date no later than February 2, 2026.
